Mermaid M5 Cool Only 5200 BTU Marine Air Conditioner - 110V

With a cooling capacity of 450 cubic feet, this unit is designed to cool up to a 26′ cruiser or a 28′ sailboat.

The Mermaid M5 has the smallest footprint on the market and only weighs 38 pounds. It is the ultimate in climate control. Don’t mistake that compact size for impaired function, however; the Mermaid unit packs the perfect punch of cool, comfortable air to keep your cabin temperate. If looking for a small marine AC unit, this is the way to go. Thanks to the expertise of Mermaid’s engineering and manufacturing team, even the electrical box on this unit only weighs 4.7 pounds.

If looking for a 5200 BTU marine air conditioner, that this is what you need. The M5 also has rotatable blowers and tapers that you can make into a V shape to make odd angle discharge installations a breeze. 4″ ducting is used and Mermaid recommends a minimum of 2, 4″ round supply grills with this installation. This unit will run off of the new Honda EO1000i 1,000 watt portable generator while in cool mode. Another option Mermaid recommends is to use a Statpower pure sine wave 1,800 watt inverter and 450 amp hours of battery power and you can anchor out for the night.

Electric heat is not an option with this unit. 

All M5 Models include a digital thermostat. Pump not included.

The Mermaid Standard Programmable/Non-Programmable Thermostat / Control is designed to be used with any Mermaid unit. Programmable features allow for de-humidification. It is provided standard with each Mermaid Marine Air conditioning unit.

It is provided standard with each Mermaid Marine Air conditioning unit. The thermostat is also accompanied with 20 feet of four-wire thermostat cable and installation instructions.

The programmable features allow for weekday and weekend setting for those boater’s who care to use the unit for dehumidification or simply climate control while not on board. The unit may also simply be used as a on/off control device by utilizing the “Hold” temperature setting key.
